End of Year Report
We will be on cloud nine all day today. We have just completed and submitted our end of year report and accounts for our first year. Having never run a business before we made a few mistakes (I can change a nappy in a few seconds but filling out all the paperwork needed takes a little longer) but we will definitly know how to move forward now and with the guidance from MISSS Business we will be able to start applying for grants to help us through.
We at Sam's Haven can't thank MISSS Business enough for all their hard work and late nights that they have put in over the past five days and would highly recommend them to anyone who needs accountancy help. Nothing was too much for them and you can all rest assured that they asked about every penny. Which is great for us and all those that donated or supported us throughout the year.
Now to move forward and continue to offer these much needed breaks away.
25 June 2015
Recently we've been busy and also had MANY people raising money for us so we would like to say a massive thank you to the following people:
All the Pompey bike riders who cycled from York to Pomepy for us and 7 other great charities.
The Perth to Havant bike riders who cycled an amazing 600miles over three days, ending with a dinner/dance.
Steph Wright and family/friends who held an annual donut competition with all proceeds coming our way.
The social committee of the Parish of Farlington donated the funds from a charity lunch.
We were invited to Denmead schools summer fate and Portchester annual gala where we held a stall.
The Mermaid pub in Portsmouth held a joint fun day with us and Lennon's Goals. Organised by the pub itself and Wiss.
One of Sam's nurses completed a mile swim in the cold waters of Scotland. Well done Gemma and friends,
Nicki Rose-White, who completed yet another marathon for us. How she finds the energy or time is amazing.
We were one of the community matters boxes at the Gosport Asda (still waiting to hear) so thank you to all those that voted for us.
The efforts of the raffle page have now hit an amazing total of £5300 and rising daily.
We are really sorry if we have missed anyone.
Also its not too late to vote for us in the Sainsburys yearly charity. Every vote helps. Please follow the link below https://www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk/#nominate) and put in the postcode PO2 0LZ. It literally takes two minutes to complete and could make a huge difference.

'STARS IN OUR EYES'
The stars in our eyes are in the form of the pupils from Harewood College in Bournemouth who today presented us with a cheque of just under £500 for holding a non uniform day. They have supported us since the charity began and we really appreciate the fact that those marvelous kids have chosen us again this year.
You can all pat yourselves on the back and feel proud that your sponsored day will pay for a deserving family to have a much needed respite break.
You are all truly stars and we thank you all for taking part and for the head boys for choosing us again.
Bless you all.

KIND HEARTED RAFFLE WINNER DONATES HIS PRIZE
Tim May, who won the Balloon Raffle, has kindly donated the whole holiday along with the spending money to a family of our choice.
After thinking long and hard we made the decision to offer it to a family of an 8yr old boy who's had a rough time since birth. Only 5weeks ago he underwent spinal surgery to straighten his back with metal rods for major health reason.
Not only has he come through it all much better than expected in such a short period of time, he has done it all without complaining ONCE. Such a brave boy and his brother and sister have been a tower of strength for him.
We feel they all deserve some time together to run around and let off some steam.
We hope you all support our decision on this and wish them all a fab holiday
